polyxena | abduction (red) — 2019
2 photographs — 90 x 135 cm
inkjet print — framed in dark grey
Inspired by the fateful relationships between greek gods and goddesses, polyxena | abduction (red) is part of an ongoing multidisciplinary body of works, focussing on sculpture, color, affect and couplings, dealing with different stories and states of love. Besides a serie of photographs, it includes a 50-minute long audiovisual installation (or live performance), which reenacts the story of two opposite couplings: polyxena and achilles — psyche and eros, whose sculptural replications are scrutinized through the lens of a camera. Contemporary and mythological narratives, found poems and personal texts come together in this sonic meditation.
